Looking back on your choices

So last week I gave you players a Rabbit Hole, and this week, I want to drop some analysis for Game Designers. Occasionally when I'm suited up and out there on my travels into the blogosphere I find some really interesting research. This is the kind of stuff Hanna usually springs on me when we're chatting, and forces me to drop game mechanics in favour of usability white-papers, or analysis of what a game 'means', or most often just a history of our weird and diverse pursuits.

Can you tell I'm starting to miss our upstart academic?

She's rightfully busy with her other work just now, so hopefully you'll make do with this gem. It covers a variety of things, the history and continuity CYOA and text adventures, some in depth analysis of choices in CYOA, and some easter eggs for you faithful readers who persevere to the end.

So here's a EOP hat tip to Christian Swinehart@ETC!
